Shell Scene

"Shell Scene"

This is a macro shot I took in Blue Hill, ME of a fragment of a mussel shell. The friend who I was with brought me to this little beach down the road from her house, and we spend the day looking through shells, skipping stones, making little Cairns and just having fun. I got all artsy and started taking photos of various things, and found this shell fragment. It was so unlike many of the shell pieces I found, and seemed to depict a scene. What I see: A steam ship out on a stormy, choppy sea... the outline of a nearby, hilly shoreline in the distance, and heavy storm clouds with spots of rain and lightning. Quite appropo for the location. It just seemed like the shell was telling its tale to me.
