Custom Made Shelving with Stain Art on Drawer and Door
Screw/Nail-less Construction
NFS
I
demand class when it comes to my furnishings! I needed some shelving
in my bathroom to house my various toiletries, towels, reading
materials, and which I could add a little art and charm to the
room with. I included 2 towel bars which are removable for ease
of access, a cabinet for my TP, a drawer for smaller things and
plenty of shelving for everything else. On the face of the drawer
and door, I employed a similar technique to how I do my etching,
and created a custom design using the stain. I finished it all
off with 3 coats of a beautiful ebony stain and polyurethane coating.
Two of my more admirable challenges to overcome were that I had
to cut and bevel the tops of the two sides to match the slant
of my ceiling, and also that I didn't use any noticable screws
or nails in the construction of it. There are some L-brackets
on the back for reinforcement, but otherwise it is entirely fitted
together using pegs and glue. |
