Part of the 'Bar Napkin Series', "Sunset" was meant to illustrate the end of a chapter in my life. Each of these was drawn to exemplify a part of me that had been either hidden at the time, completely repressed, or as a means to visually depict some aspect that I was trying to reach. I guess in some way, I am the tree in this image - keeping root, despite the fact that the thing that has been providing that life-giving energy for so long is about to fade away, giving way to the night, and a time of uncertainty.
